–Wie motivierst du dich an einem bad day?
Beim Aufstehen in den Spiegel schauen, sich selbst anlächeln und sagen: „Das wird ein guter Tag.“
Falls dringende Termine anstehen und dennoch alles schief läuft: „Augen zu und durch!“
Wenn Arbeit zu erledigen ist, die ich mir selbst einteilen kann und wo alle Deadlines noch in weiter Ferne sind: „Decke über den Kopf und weiterschlafen.“ Und immer auf das eigene Karma achten!
–Was war deine bisher schwierigste und was deine beste berufliche Erfahrung?
Die für mich vielleicht verunsicherndste Entscheidung war der Gang in die Schweiz im September 2015.
Auch wenn Wien nach wie vor das Zentrum meiner Arbeiten ist, hat das „über die Grenze schauen“ doch mein Spektrum ein wenig erweitert.
International betrachtet ist es nur ein Katzensprung, für mich war es dennoch ein erster Schritt hin zu neuen Ufern und einer gewissen Öffnung. Damit geht auch gleich der positive Umstand einher, dass zwischen Basel und Paris gerade einmal drei Stunden Zugfahrt liegen.
So gern ich nämlich in anderen Ländern umtriebig bin, so sehr habe ich auch eine Schwäche: Ich fliege nicht gern. Und wenn es rational dann nicht doch um so vieles klüger wäre, das Flugzeug zu nehmen, würde ich wahrscheinlich bis nach Amerika schwimmen, wenn ich könnte.
-Was ist deine Stärke?
Meine größte Stärke ist wahrscheinlich der Fokus auf das Wesentliche der Dinge.
Das sieht man sogar an meinen Fotos, die nicht besonders überladen oder opulent sind, sondern eher auf die Grundlagen reduziert eine gewisse Prägnanz in sich tragen.
–Was war deine Motivation, dich als Fotografin selbständig zu machen?
Ich fotografiere tatsächlich um der Fotografie Willen.
Die Entscheidung, sich damit einem Markt anzuschließen und gleichzeitig auch den Anforderungen der Modefotografie gerecht zu werden, habe ich bewusst getroffen.
Ich liebe es, das vertreten zu dürfen, was ich auch vertreten möchte und die Freiheit zu haben, das tun zu können, was ich tue. Die Fotografie bringt wie jede andere Selbstständigkeit auch die Risiken, aber auch die Privilegien eines Einzelunternehmens mit sich.
Etwas Besonderes ist es für mich immer wieder, auch außerhalb Österreichs ohne festgelegten Standort arbeiten zu können und enorm viel kreatives Schaffen um mich zu haben.

–How do you motivate yourself on a bad day?
When I wake up, looking in the mirror, smiling at myself, saying: „This is gonna be a good day. If there are urgent appointments and everything is gonna be wrong anyway: „Eyes shut and go for it!“ If work has to be done, that I can divide myself and all deadlines are far away: „Pull the ceiling over your head and sleep on.“
–What was your best and what was your most difficult working experience?
Maybe the most unsettling decision for me was the transition to Switzerland in September 2015. Even if Vienna is still the center of my work, to „look over the boarders“ has widen my horizon, extended my spectrum. Internationally seen it is just a small step. But for me it was a first important step to leave for new pastures and a certain opening of myself. That goes within the great circumstance, that between Basel and Paris it is a 3 hours train ride. I really like to be in different countries, but I have one weekness: I do not like to fly by airplane. If it wasn`t the rational decision to take a flight sometimes, I literally would swim to the Unites States, if I could.
-What is your strength?
My greatest strength: To focus on the essential. You even see this on my photography. They aren`t very overloaded. A reduction to the essentials is significant, the pictures carry a certain conciseness.
–What was your motivation, to be a freelance photographer?
I really photograph for the sake of photography. It was my conscious decision, to be part of a market and the expectations of fashion photography.
I love to represent, what I wanna represent. I appreciate the freedom doing, what I want to do. What comes with Photography ist he same as any other self-employment. The risks and the priviligues of a one person company. For me it has something special, being able to work outside of Austria without a permanent residence and being surrounded by so much creative workand activities.
