-Wie ist das Schönste und was ist das Schwierigste an deinem Beruf?
Das Schönste an meinem Beruf ist diese unglaubliche Vielfalt. Kein Tag gleicht dem anderen. An einem Tag treffe ich einen Opernstar, an einem anderen die Dancing Stars. Ich interviewe Designer, Politiker, Persönlichkeiten aus der Wirtschaft und der Gastronomie oder auch mal aus dem Sport. Einfach Menschen, die etwas zu erzählen haben, das man gerne von ihnen wissen würde.
Das Schwierigste ist, Menschen, die nicht so gerne in der Öffentlichkeit oder im Mittelunkt stehen, vor das Mikrofon zu bekommen. Da helfen natürlich jahrzehntelange Kontakte und das lange aufgebaute Vertrauen zu Prominenten, Wegbegleitern und auch Presse-Chefs und PR-Leuten.
-Was ist deine größte Kompetenz?
Ich glaube meine größte Kompentenz ist meine Professionalität und mein herzliches Wesen. Ich bin immer gut aufgelegt, freundlich und strahle auch aus, dass ich meinen Beruf gerne mache. Ich feile gerne an Sätzen und Formulierungen, schreibe auch gerne mal witzig, aber der wichtigste Part meines Jobs ist das persönliche Gespräch. Die Leute sollen gar nicht merken, dass es ein Interview ist, dass es Arbeit ist. Und im Laufe der Zeit würde ich auch mein Netzwerk als große Kompetenz bezeichnen.
-Was macht dich glücklich?
Glücklich macht mich eine gute Geschichte. Man merkt sofort während eines Interviews, ob es eine gute Story wird. Und wenn man dann noch Feedback von außen bekommen – seien es Leser oder eben auch der Interviewte selbst – ist das ein großes Glück, ein Geschenk, ein Gradmesser für seine Leistung.
-Wie motivierst du dich in schwierigen Zeiten, Phasen?
Keine Frage, die Medienbranche durchlebt allgemein schwierige Zeiten, egal wie motiviert man ist. Da kann das Produkt noch so gut sein, das man auf den Markt bringt, die Partner aus der Wirtschaft schnallen den Gürtel immer enger. Und klar ist auch, dass das Internet längst eine neue Ära der Berichterstattung eingeläutet hat und keiner noch so genau weiß, wie man es künftig kapitalisieren kann. Ich finde diese Entwicklung prinzipiell sehr spannend und denke, dass es immer eine Hand voll Print-Produkte geben wird (Fachmagazine, Kundenmagazine ein paar Hochglanzmagazine, im Tageszeitungsbereich ein großes Boulevardblatt und eines für die intellektuelle Schicht, usw.). Diese Entwicklung mit zu verfolgen und im besten Fall auch mit zu gestalten motiviert mich täglich aufs Neue.

-What ist he most beautiful and what ist he most difficult thing about your job?
The most beautiful thing about my job ist he incredible diversity. Every day is different than the last. On one day I meet an opera star, on the other day I meet the Dancing Stars. I interview designer, politicians, personalities from business, gastronomy or sports. Just people, who have something to say, that you are interested in. The most difficult thing is, to get people in front of my microphone, that do not want to be in the public eye or in the centre of attention. It helps to have contacts gained for decades and to have the trust built to famous people, VIPS, accompagnions, PR Bosses and PR people.
-What is your greatest competence?
I think my greatest competence is my professionality and my open-hearted nature. I am always in a good mood, friendly and I am radiating from the inside out, that I love my job. I am very precise with sentences, wording, phrasing and I like to write in a funny style. But the most important part in my job is the personal conversation.
The people should not even realise that it is an interview, that it is work. And as time goes on I would term my network as great competence.
-What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is a good story. You just know it in the interview situation, i fit is gonna be a great story. And when you get the feedback from people then – if it ist he reader or the interviewed person – this is great happiness, a present, an indicator for accomplishment.
-How do you motivate yourself in difficult times?
No doubt with that, the Media sector is having hard times these days. No matter how motivated you are.
The product you bring on the market can be brilliant, but the business cooperations tighten their belts. And of course, the Internet has started a new era of media reporting. Noone really knows, how you can capitalise that in the future.
In principle I think that development is exciting and that there will always be handfull Print Media products (trade journals, customer magazines, some glossy magazines, when it comes to daily newspapers a great boulevard magazine and one for the intellectual crowd, …). To follow up and in the best case to actively shape that development, motivates me everyday new.
